Common questions, troubleshooting, and how to reach us.

Getting started

  • Why does Bivryn need access to Apple Health?

Bivryn's core feature — interpreting your biology — depends on signals like sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, and recovery from Apple Health. Without these reads, Bivryn can't build your personal baselines or tell you anything meaningful. We never send raw HealthKit data to our servers.

You can grant or revoke specific reads anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Bivryn.

  • How long until I see real insights?

Body State updates immediately once Apple Health permissions are granted. Discoveries (pattern detection) typically becomes meaningful after 14–21 days, because Bivryn needs enough biology to find real correlations.

On Day 1, Bivryn surfaces one hero observation from up to 90 days of your historical Apple Health data — so you have something real to look at while the longitudinal engine warms up.

  • Does Bivryn work without an Apple Watch?

Yes. Bivryn reads whatever signals Apple Health has — sleep from iPhone, manual logs, third-party rings, third-party scales, blood-work uploads, mood entries. A wearable improves HRV/recovery accuracy, but Bivryn is designed to be useful even without one.

Subscriptions

  • What does the free trial include?

Full access to all Bivryn features for 7 days: Body State, Discoveries, Self-Experiments, Blood Work intelligence, Hormone Panel, Apple Watch companion, widgets, and Live Activities.

  • What happens after my trial ends?

The subscription auto-renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you don't subscribe, you can still view previously generated insights and use logging, breathing sessions, and other non-AI features. New AI-generated interpretations require an active subscription.

  • How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Bivryn → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

  • Can I get a refund?

Apple processes all Bivryn subscription transactions. To request a refund, use Apple's "Report a Problem" page at reportaproblem.apple.com. Refund eligibility is Apple's decision.

Privacy & data

  • Where does my data live?

On your iPhone, stored via SwiftData. If you have iCloud sync enabled, Bivryn syncs to your private iCloud database — not our servers. We never receive your raw HealthKit data, logs, or notes.

  • How do I export all my data?

Profile → Privacy → Export everything. You'll receive a JSON archive of all data Bivryn has stored locally.

  • How do I delete everything?

Profile → Privacy → Delete all my data → confirm. One tap wipes all locally stored data. Uninstalling the app removes whatever remains. If you had iCloud sync enabled, you may also want to remove Bivryn's data from iCloud via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

  • Does Bivryn use my data to train AI models?

No. We use Anthropic's Claude API to generate interpretations, but Anthropic's commercial API does not use your prompts or responses to train their models. We also never send your name, email, address, or any identifier that ties a request to you.

Troubleshooting

  • My Body State says "—" or "no reading yet."

This usually means HealthKit permissions haven't been fully granted, or there's no recent biology to read. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Bivryn, and make sure all categories are toggled on. Then pull-to-refresh on the Home screen.

  • Discoveries is empty.

Pattern detection needs roughly 14–21 days of biology to find correlations meaningfully. Until then, Bivryn shows baseline observations (your typical sleep window, your usual HRV range) in the empty state.

  • My lab PDF upload failed.

Make sure the PDF is text-based (not just a scanned image with no OCR layer) and that the file is under 10 MB. Bivryn accepts multi-page panels. If parsing keeps failing, try uploading one panel at a time, or photograph individual marker rows using the camera path.

  • The Apple Watch app isn't installing.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone → Available Apps → tap Install next to Bivryn. If it doesn't appear, make sure your watch is paired, on watchOS 10 or later, and that the iPhone app is fully installed (not just downloaded).

Apple integrations

  • How do I use Bivryn with Siri?

Say "Hey Siri, what's my body state in Bivryn?" — or any of: "Get my Bivryn recovery," "Bivryn sleep last night," "Ask Bivryn." Bivryn's Shortcuts also work from the Shortcuts app, Spotlight, the Action Button, and inside compatible AI assistant apps.

  • Can I share my biology with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Profile → Doctor Snapshot → Send to AI. Bivryn builds a markdown dossier of your biology and opens the iOS share sheet so you can send it to ChatGPT, Claude, Mail, or Messages. There's an identity-strip toggle if you want to share data without PII.
